I absolutely loved the mission trip I took to Ecuador a couple years ago, so as soon as dates were set for this year, I made sure to get the time off work so I could join this trip.

This year, my hotel room overlooked the cathedral, so I was able to get some fun rooftop shots:

And as soon as breakfast was over, I rushed across the street to the park and found the iguana trees in full bloom:

Unfazed:

IGUANA!!!

They’re just so chill!

Me and the iguanas hanging out at the base of the statue of Simón Bolívar:

Simón Bolívar looking down on the world:

I love when turtles balance on their bellies and stick their legs out!

Not quite enough rocks for everyone:

Farewell, turtle-friend:

It’s time for us to board our bus:

and head up into the mountains:

Stopping at our favorite trout restaurant along the way, where I took no pictures, though Inca-man did make an appearance:

That mask was such a great find last trip!
When we arrived in Cuenca, we went straight to the clinic, where we unloaded all our supplies:

Inventoried what was available at the clinic:

Organized what we brought:

And prepped for the week to come.

Then it was back to our hotel for a late dinner before turning in for the night- tomorrow’s alarm will come all too soon!
