Today, we’re heading back toward Santiago Island, where we were a couple days ago, but this time we’ll be checking out some sites in the south:

Dive #7 – Beagle Rocks

There are so many fish here!

Large banded blenny:

Eel:

Patti and Mark:

During our surface area, we jumped into the shallows here:

and swam with some playful sea lions!

Dive #8 – Beagle Rocks (again)

Back into the sea of fish:

Figures the one time I actually get the flash to light up my subject, it’s a neon-orange sea horse:

Starry grouper:

Blobby coral:

Fine-spotted eel:

Scorpionfish:

For as rough as things started, this ended up being a pretty stellar trip!

Farewell, dive boat!

Since our dives were so close to Santa Cruz, we made it home in time to see the fish market:

at the end of the day, the fishermen bring their catches here, where the fish are cleaned and sold:

and where the sea lions:

and birds gather to eat the guts:

The evidence is written all over his face:

Well fed:

Food has been spotted:

*gulp*

(no-so)-Brown pelican:

Sneaky pelican:

*yoink!*

Brown pelican:

Lava gull:

Frigatebird:

So many birds hanging around:

Look at those feet!

Diving pelicans:

Marine iguana:

Walking around town as the sun started to set:

…I really hope the child isn’t included in the car seat sale…

A very accurate sign:

Sea lions kinda just sleep wherever they want!

And on that note, I’m off to bed too- we’ve got a day of land exploration tomorrow!
