This year is our 10 year anniversary, and I had planned on island-hopping around Hawai’i. But Matt wasn’t all that keen on jumping through the hoops we’d need to in order to be Covid-cleared and avoid quarantine once on the island. Plus, we’d need to plan our trip from most-restrictive to least-restrictive as each island has its own set of requirements. Then ticket prices jumped up and I decided we should just save Hawai’i for another time.
Enter Georgia. Maybe not the first place that pops into your head when you think “destination vacation”, but it’s easy to get to, warmer than Wisconsin and had a lot of pretty hikes. I was sold and Matt was on board.
We decided to fly out of MKE instead of our usual MSP so we could spend a bit of time with our families before taking an evening flight out to ATL.
We stayed downtown, basically right across the street from the Aquarium, Coke World and Centennial Park, which we would be exploring tomorrow. We had a nice view of the Falcon’s Stadium:
I tested out all the pillows til I found the comfiest one:
Matt also picked out an acceptable pillow:
Not pictured: the train that ran right behind the hotel and kept me up all night. I ended up pulling the couch cushions into the shower and sleeping in the bathroom which, while a bit cramped, was actually quite quiet.
