Last night’s sleep wasn’t great either- it’s pretty humid here as well, and I may have slept through my alarm- but only by like 15 minutes. I made it to the airport in plenty of time, my flight was a go AND the lady who hooked me up with the vouchers worked some magic and got my seat upgrade back!
I was a little uncertain at first as she moved me into the bulkhead row, and the last time I was in the bulkhead the seatbelts were chunky and uncomfortable, but this seat?
This is comfort! (don’t judge the socks, they’re grippy ones I got from one of my Garuda flights and have become my plane socks)
My whole row is occupied (it’s a full flight- I’m guessing any empty seats were filled from people from my original flight) and the guy in the middle is super-tall, but with this extra room I can easily climb out without disturbing my row-mates.
The plan for this flight is the same as my last one- stay awake for the first half and around Hawaii/halfway, try to nap:
and it was a good plan that might have worked when my day started at 3am and I had a flight before this one, but today? I just woke up. I’m not at all tired.
On the plus side, I got to watch this sunrise:
I was fairly certain I’d miss my final flight- when my flights changed, my last flight moved up by an hour, giving me a <90 minute layover.
So I timed it: 7 minutes from plane-through customs-to the baggage carousel (thank you, Global Entry!), 16 minute wait for my bag, and 11 minutes to recheck my bag-clear security-and find my next gate. 34 minutes total!
It was probably only that fast because I was timing it, but it was also the most efficient connection of my trip so…
And that’s the last of my pictures. By the time I boarded, I was exhausted and fell asleep before my plane took off. Fortunately, it hadn’t snowed while I was gone so I didn’t have to clear my car (though I did encounter snow on my drive home) and it had warmed up like 30° from when I left so my car started just fine despite having sat outside for a week and a half.
I stayed up as long as I could, but still crashed early, and finally got some solid sleep! Best way to end my trip!
