To break up the 10 hour drive home, we decided to stop at Wall Drug for breakfast. Plus I kept seeing signs for 5c coffee and who doesn’t love cheap coffee!? I was going to just get a donut, but then I spotted these giant sticky rolls- SO TASTY!!!
We wandered around the shops for a bit then hopped back on the road for a driving tour through the Badlands.
I expected it to be flat and, well, kind of boring, but to my surprise there are canyons here!!!

Eventually Matt stopped getting out of the car and I just explored on my own 🙂
This “detour” was only 40 miles or so, but it took us well over 2.5 hours to drive with all my frequent stops. Totally worth it, but it’ll be a late night by the time we finally get home.
At our gas stop, I finally spotted the stuffed Sinclair dinos!
I named mine Claire Sinclair 🙂
While this definitely wasn’t our best trip, and we didn’t really have much of a plan going into it, we enjoyed the things we were able to do and had a pretty good time.
