It’s been 2 years since the last mission trip, which means it’s time go to back to Ecuador!

Like last time, we left on one of the coldest nights of the year, hence the deicer.
The “downside” of having made this trip several times means that I’m definitely lacking in pictures of our travel day.

We spent the night at our usual hotel in Guayaquil and, even though I already have probably at this point hundreds of pictures of the iguanas, I couldn’t resist heading across to the park and getting couple more:

I somehow missed this guy on the church holding a mini church in his hand:

This nest of wires is actually quite tame compared to some:

Lots of construction going on this time:

OSHA approved scaffolding?

I feel like going over one good bump would send those fruits flying:

So here’s a first- our bus got pulled over:

…we weren’t doing anything wrong, just had new plates and apparently the police were curious? While the bus driver got our paper work squared away, we, like good “tourists”, took pictures:

Fortunately, we were eventually sent on our way without incident.

Driving through the countryside, most houses are on stilts so they don’t get flooded:

Satellite has found its way out here:

I appreciate the plastic chair in the back of this truck:

I was a little late with this picture, but that grey car was passing the blue truck when that black truck got impatient and passed the little grey car, while he was passing the blue truck:

Up into the mountains we go!

I was admiring all these trees planted in a straight row:

Then there’s this path:

Lunch stop at our usual restaurant, Dos Chorreras:

TROUT!!!

MORE TROUTS!!!

Not sure how we missed these last time (or maybe they’re new?), but we found some fun saddle chairs:

Me and Turner
Ride ’em pony!

I wandered the grounds after lunch and found some bumpy geese:

This picture is not in black-and-white:

Hello again, Cuenca!

Bryan and Dona
We hauled all our bags over to the clinic to unload and set up for the coming week:

Tomorrow, our surgical week begins!
