Good morning, I think…
I mean, my ear is feeling better and one of our guides offered to let me use his camera for the next few days. Plus, I get to dive with Mark and Patti!
Today, we’ll be heading north to Santiago island:

Dive #3 – Bartolome
Before we splashed, I got a quick run down on my loaner camera’s settings:

It’s nothing fancy- just a compact camera in a housing like our other guide is using here:

But it’s better than nothing!
Mark doing flips:

Patti looking for fun fish:

and my new buddy, Ali:

Loaner camera does not have an external strobe- just a translucent panel to diffuse the camera’s internal flash, so colors are pretty much lost:

Shark silhouettes:

Chocolate chip seastar:

My mask seems to have sprouted a leak…

Our dive boat:

Pinnacle Rock, Bartolomé:

We spotted a penguin during our surface interval!!!

Galapagos penguin:

And another one!

Really wish I had my big camera with me!
We also found a sea lion:

A bunch of birds:

Birds and a seal!

Yup, definitely should have brought the big camera along for this surface interval!
Dive #4 – Cousins Rock

Spotted eagle ray:

Look how bumpy this Panamic cushion sea star is!

Little white-tip reef shark napping under a ledge:

He’s so cute!

Pacific creole:

After our dive, Mark found this tiny crab on his boot:

Today was definitely a good day. I saw so many new-to-me critters and even came away with some semi-decent pictures.
